‘It’s a time for things to be wrong…  It’s the end of a century, the end of a whole thousand years soon.  Powerful times, times for strange things to happen’

Marcie in Dark Season

In the early nineties Children's BBC broadcast two particularly memorable series: the witty, action-adventure Dark Season, and the chilling and emotionally-charged Century Falls. Both of these programmes were from the pen of Russell T Davies, a writer who has since gone on to find critical and popular acclaim for work such as Queer as Folk, Bob and Rose, The Second Coming and the ultra-successful revival of Doctor Who.

While the world waits with baited breath for the latest installment in the adventures of the Doctor and Rose, this site provides a guide to Davies' earliest forays into the world of television science-fiction and fantasy. Via the menu on the left you can access illustrated episode guides for Dark Season and Century Falls; details of cast, crew, production and transmission times for both series; information on the Dark Season novelisation; an exclusive Q&A with Davies and a work-in-progress listing of his screenwriting; information about Damaged Goods (Davies' 1996 Doctor Who novel); an interview with Victoria Lambert (Marcie in Dark Season)...
